Radon is a dangerous gas that comes from the decay of uranium.  It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the world, and in the U.S. It is drawn into our homes by the natural updraft of air in all houses.  There is an effective treatment for homes, but first, testing must be done to determine the need.  Of all the houses I have tested in West-Central Illinois, about half of them have radon levels above what is considered safe.  Testing is a simple, non-invasive process that takes a minimum of 48 hours to get a reliable reading.
